How 2020 is making us rethink our health Things for you to Ponder

What Matters Most To You?

What a better time than now to assess where we are with are health and where we want to be. 2020 has been a uncertain, scary, challenging year for all. It also has led to opportunities, time with loved ones, and time spent focusing on what matters most.

It brought us home together with those we love juggling way too much.

It brought some of us into the workplace more helping those who were sick while missing our family and friends.

It brought us questioning how we spent our time at home, work, traveling, etc.

It brought us away from those we connect with daily and weekly and may have brought us closer to those under our own roof.

It left us unemployed, without some basic needs, under roofs we may not have wanted to be under and left many wondering what life would hold in the months to come.

What matters most now…in light of everything that is going on and happened in 2020?

What matters most to me and is something I need to consistently give time and attention to daily even when I am tired or frustrated or overwhelmed is…my family, including some active time for me, and continuing to work on my passion.

What matters most to you, now as you reflect on the past few months? Message me at bommer26@gmail.com, or through IG – https://www.instagram.com/showingupforyourhealth/ or respond below to get a conversation going.

About Showing Up

Ways you can “Show Up” for your health

#1. Detangling the Influx of Information at Your Disposal: I seek to provide space and dialogue to help you navigate the world of food and nutrition. Providing evidence-based information and clarity around hot topics and basic nutrition science, I can help you carve out a path towards a healthier relationship with food.

#2. Building Intuitive Kitchen Confidence: This path can’t be accomplished without some basic understanding of how to navigate the kitchen. I seek to actively provide opportunities to instill healthier relationships with food by bridging culinary arts and nutrition science for you in this space: the kitchen. This practice allows consumers to explore basic culinary skills, recipe innovation, and meal planning, while connecting and sharing a meal with others. The goal is to nourish yourself, while building intuitive kitchen confidence and intuitive cooking practices.

#3. Encouraging Intuitive Movement: I seek to provide opportunities to instill healthier relationships with movement and what our bodies are most capable of from an activity standpoint. Providing space to allow consumers to explore safe and appropriate exercise and activities for their body based on what intuitively motivates them, creates healthy long-term relationships with movement. This allows consumers to lead a fulfilled and active lifestyle, while honoring their body.

About Showing Up

Why “Showing Up?”

The story and momentum behind this blog, brand and opportunity to share truly began over 26 years ago. My father a successful salesman died suddenly in 1994.  In his short career, he build a wide network of sales clients by building and maintaining healthy, robust relationships; he was there when they needed him and this trust and generosity of his time allowed him to build a strong, successful network of clients in a short time.

This same business skill set carried over into other important areas of his life. He was a wonderful father, brother, son, uncle, and friend and gave his time and presence daily to those that mattered most to him. This act of “showing up”, referred to by many in stories and recollections of his life, is the momentum behind my brand and ultimately allowing his legacy (and a lesson he left with me) to live on!

Showing Up: This is what my father sought to do and what I want to instill in my life and inspire in others – this can be directly related to your relationships you have with others and the relationships you have with your health.

You may also have someone who is alive and well or someone like my father who died that always “shows up” (is always present or there for you). If they are a quick call or text away, tell them thank you and how much they mean to you. If they can’t be physically reached, pay it forward and “show up” for someone else. That act of kindness is something that for sure is good for your health and the other on the receiving end.

Now that we all have an idea of what “showing up” means – at least in the context of what I am trying to create with this blog and brand – let’s see what ways I can help you with “showing up” for your health!
